Pro Bono Colmenares: Driving Creativity Toward Progress
At Colmenares & Asociados, we firmly believe that Intellectual Property is an essential tool for economic, social, and cultural development. It provides legal certainty, strengthens the value of intangible assets, and opens new opportunities for growth for individuals, communities, entrepreneurs, cultural associations, and organizations committed to art and innovation.
In a context marked by financial challenges and rapid technological advances, we reaffirm our vocation of service to those sectors facing difficulties in managing and protecting their creations. In response to this reality, our firm’s Pro Bono Area brings legal support closer to those who transform their surroundings through their creative work.
With over 120 years of experience in the practice of Intellectual Property, we are committed to delivering high-quality professional advice. In its first year of operation, the Pro Bono Area has set a goal of providing at least 50 hours of legal assistance, thus expanding the opportunities for beneficiaries to take their projects into new spaces of creation, identity, and progress, reinforcing the transformative impact of their initiatives within their communities.
This effort is led by our Pro Bono Committee, comprised of Luis Gayoso Frayssinet, Guillermo Melgarejo Zorrilla, Diego Pozo Córdova, and Manuel Fernández-Stoll Zar, who guide this initiative with the highest professional standards. A notable example of this commitment is the training provided to the Shipibo-Konibo community of Cantagallo—an extraordinary community of artists—on the use of legal tools to protect and add value to their cultural expressions, as well as the support given in registering the artwork Designs of Our River, by renowned visual artist Harry Pinedo.
